How to register e-distribución metering devices

Steps to follow for registering customer-owned metering devices:

 

1. Registering metering devices in e-distribución systems

 

To register customer-owned metering devices (meter and/or modem and its associated SIM and/or current/voltage measuring transformers) in e-distribución systems, the customer or their representative, authorized installer, etc., should follow the steps outlined below based on the chosen method:

  • Through our website:
    1. Access our 'Metering device registration' service.
    2. Enter the required details about the devices to be registered.
    3. Attach any additional information requested (including manufacturer protocols for transformers).
    4. Submit the form once all fields have been completed.
    5. If additional information is required (e.g., manufacturer verification protocols, parametrization sheets, photos, etc.), it will be requested via the contact email provided in the form.
  • Via e-mail:
    1. Fill in the metering Device Registration form with the necessary details. The form is available at the bottom of the page.
    2. Submit the completed form (along with manufacturer protocols for transformers) via email to the address provided in the Form: gestcal_alta_edm@enel.com
    3. Ensure the email subject includes the supply province and at least one of the following three details:  
      • Contract number
      • CUPS
      • Supply request number    
    4. If additional information is required (e.g., manufacturer verification protocols, parametrization sheets, photos, etc.), it will be requested via email to the address provided in the Form.

 

Specific instructions for modem data

The file 'Instructions for registering a new modem' provides guidelines for submitting the data required for modem registration based on the selected option, as well as instructions to grant us access as the entity responsible for reading the data.

This applies regardless of the method you use to request registration of your metering device.

 

2. Requesting a metering device replacement

Once we confirm the registration of the new device in our systems (and not before), you'll need to request its replacement/installation through one of the following methods:

  1. Via our website's private area, follow the attached guide. To use this channel, you must first be registered on our website.
  2. Through the customer service hotline of the e-distribución (900 878 119) distribution company, providing the following information:
    • CUPS and location (supply point address) of the supply where the metering device is to be replaced
    • Item to be replaced: meter, modem, or metering transformers
    • Ownership of the device or item/s to be replaced
    • Contact person and mobile phone number. The contact person will be present during work and will supply the device for installation. They will be contacted before carrying out the necessary work to schedule the date and time.
    • If you are submitting this request on behalf of another person, you must have their signed authorization. If you have an account in our private customer area, you can upload the authorization directly from there. If you don’t have an account, we will request it from you by email.

  3. Through the customer's energy Distribution Company
    • The Distribution Company will forward the ATR request using the templates established by the CNMC.
    • It is essential to instruct the Distribution Company to include the contact person and their phone number to schedule the field appointment and supply the new meter for installation in the comments to the ATR request
