Sustainable Development

Goals

At e-distribución, we are aware of the importance of avoiding, minimizing, and restoring, as far as possible, the impact that our infrastructure and industrial activities may have on the territory where we operate. The protection and conservation of biodiversity and natural capital are integrated as priority aspects in the development of our business strategy, including their consideration in decision-making regarding new projects, as well as in the management and operation of existing assets.

We are committed to responsible and sustainable management, taking into account the potential impacts on nature. In line with its strategic vision, e-distribución conducts a systematic assessment of its impacts, dependencies, risks, and opportunities (IROs), identifying material aspects related to biodiversity and ecosystem services. This process is carried out by the recommendations of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), applying the following fundamental principles aimed at minimizing negative impacts and maximizing positive ones on nature:

  1. Analyze, assess, and manage risks and opportunities related to biodiversity, to prevent negative impacts and promote solutions that generate environmental and business value.
  2. Avoid, minimize, restore, and ultimately compensate for impacts on biodiversity, from the design phase to the closure of operations, rigorously following the Mitigation Hierarchy.
  3. Ensure compliance with corporate commitments to No Net Loss of biodiversity.
  4. Integrate biodiversity considerations into corporate governance, including strategic decision-making, investment, acquisition, and business planning processes.
  5. Maintain continuous control in all activities to ensure compliance with current environmental legislation, as well as with voluntary agreements, promoting increasingly ambitious and innovative nature management practices.

e-distribución’s commitment to preserving the environment and species biodiversity has always been the origin and motivation for the development of various biodiversity projects and initiatives. In collaboration with different administrations and organizations, we carry out projects to conserve, repopulate, or monitor threatened species.
